We partner with students and families to set meaningful goals, celebrate progress, and develop skills that extend far beyond the martial arts mat.
Explore our frequently asked questions to learn how we can help you or your child get started.
Confidence, Bullying & Life Skills
Absolutely! Building confidence is one of the most important benefits we want our students to experience.
Through learning new skills, overcoming challenges, setting goals, and celebrating achievements, students begin to recognize their own abilities. They learn that they don’t have to be perfect to make progress—and that they can accomplish difficult things when they keep working.
For a shy child, that might mean becoming more comfortable speaking up. For another student, it might mean trying something new without fear of failure.
Our goal is to help students develop confidence they can carry into school, friendships, family life, and future challenges.
Martial arts can help students develop skills that may be valuable when facing bullying, including confidence, assertive communication, situational awareness, and emotional control.
Students learn to carry themselves with confidence, treat others with respect, and respond thoughtfully to challenging situations. They also learn that strength includes knowing when to walk away and when to seek help from a trusted adult.
Every bullying situation is different, and martial arts cannot guarantee that bullying will stop. However, we can help students develop practical skills and a stronger sense of their own abilities.
We want students to feel empowered, prepared, and confident—not afraid of the world around them.
Yes! Self-discipline is a skill that develops through practice, and martial arts provides opportunities to practice it regularly.
Students learn to listen, follow directions, respect expectations, practice consistently, and work toward goals that take time to achieve. They discover that progress comes from commitment and perseverance, even when something feels difficult.
We want students to understand that discipline isn’t about being perfect or never making mistakes. It’s about learning, taking responsibility, and choosing to keep moving forward.
Our hope is that these habits become valuable tools at home, at school, and throughout life.
Your child doesn’t have to be outgoing or confident to begin!
Martial arts can give students a structured environment in which to practice new skills, interact with others, and experience success. Our goal is to encourage each student while helping them grow at a pace that supports their development.
We celebrate progress, not perfection. A small step outside a child’s comfort zone can become the beginning of something much bigger.
Your child doesn’t need to arrive confident. They just need an opportunity to begin.
Not at all! Martial arts includes physical skills, but the lessons students learn along the way can be just as important.
We use martial arts as a vehicle for developing focus, perseverance, respect, emotional control, responsibility, leadership, and confidence.
Students learn that their strength comes with responsibility and that how they treat others matters.
We want them to become skilled martial artists and thoughtful, capable people who use what they learn to make a positive difference.
Classes, Fitness & Programs
Lawrence Championship Martial Arts offers structured martial arts training and opportunities for students to grow as they develop their skills and work toward their goals.
Depending on the student’s interests and readiness, training and development opportunities may include foundational martial arts, advanced training, leadership development, and team-based activities.
Our team can help you explore the available programs and identify the best fit for your goals.
We offer beginning through advanced programs for ages five and up. Our students start off learning the basics and then have the potential to compete on a regional, state, and national level with training from top notch, experienced competitor instructors.
We welcome children, teens, and adults who want to learn, grow, and challenge themselves through martial arts.
The right starting point depends on the student’s age, goals, experience, and readiness. Our team can help you identify the appropriate program and class options.
Whether you’re enrolling a young beginner, supporting a teenager through an important stage of development, or looking for a personal challenge as an adult, we’d love to help you explore your options.
We have classes for ages 5 to 7 and 8 to 11, as well as teen and adult classes.
Not at all! Beginners do not need to arrive with prior martial arts experience or a particular level of fitness.
Students develop coordination, balance, strength, flexibility, endurance, and body awareness as they train. We want them to recognize their progress and discover what they’re capable of accomplishing.
Martial arts offers a structured way to get moving, learn physical skills, and work toward personal goals.
That’s perfectly fine! Everyone starts somewhere.
Our team will help your child understand the basics, learn the expectations, and begin developing skills appropriate to their level.
There is no need to wait until your child feels ready, coordinated, or confident enough. Those qualities can grow through the process of learning.
Absolutely! You don’t need to have started as a child to benefit from martial arts.
Adults can pursue personal goals involving physical activity, skill development, confidence, focus, and continued learning. Whether you’re looking for a new challenge or returning to something you enjoyed years ago, we encourage you to explore the possibilities.
We’ll help you understand which program and schedule may suit your needs.
Trying something new should feel exciting, not overwhelming.
During your introductory experience, you’ll have an opportunity to learn more about our school, meet our team, and experience what martial arts training is like. We’ll help you understand the next steps and answer questions about programs, expectations, and goals.
You don’t need to know martial arts terminology or arrive with special equipment unless our team has asked you to bring something specific.
Your first step is simply showing up. We’ll help you take it from there.
Family-Friendly Scheduling & Support

Our team can explain the available class times and help you find an option that works with your schedule.
Generally, our beginner students train twice a week. Our younger groups train for 30 minutes each class, and students ages 8 and up train for 40 minutes each class.
Parents play an important role in a child’s development, and we value the partnership between families and instructors.
You know your child better than anyone. Your goals, concerns, and observations help us better understand how to support their growth.
We want you to have opportunities to celebrate progress, recognize achievements, and encourage the lessons your child is learning through martial arts.
Our goal is to work alongside you—not replace your role as your child’s most important teacher.
We will schedule progress checks with you to make sure that progress is being made, and we are working as a team to bring out the best in your martial artist!
Challenges are a normal part of learning anything worthwhile.
We help students understand that mistakes and frustration don’t mean failure. They’re opportunities to learn, adjust, and try again.

Progress, Belts & Our Yellow Belt Guarantee
Students work toward new belt ranks by developing martial arts skills and demonstrating the knowledge and abilities expected at their level.
Progress involves practice, consistency, effort, and learning to work through challenges. Along the way, students experience the satisfaction of setting goals and seeing their hard work pay off.
We want each belt to represent more than a change in color. It should be a reminder of what a student has learned and the commitment it took to get there.
We want families to feel confident about taking their first step into martial arts, and our Yellow Belt Guarantee is part of the commitment we make to helping students get started.
We believe students benefit from having a clear goal, a path forward, and support as they learn the fundamentals of martial arts.
We recognize that martial arts training is not for everyone and our studio may not be the best fit for your needs. We are so confident in our ability to meet your needs, however, that we are willing to offer our Yellow Belt Guarantee. This requires a new student to train with us consistently until they have earned their next belt following white. Upon registering for and earning that belt, students and parents are invited to complete a written notice explaining why our program did not meet the student’s needs for training. If all of the regulations have been met, then the program agreement will be dissolved with no penalties. More information regarding this guarantee can be discussed in person.
Every student is different. Some pick up physical skills quickly, while others need additional practice to develop coordination, confidence, or consistency.
We want each student to continue progressing toward their goals without feeling that their journey must look exactly like someone else’s.
We celebrate effort, improvement, and perseverance. Our focus is on helping students become stronger versions of themselves—not comparing their progress with everyone around them.
Enrollment, Pricing & Getting Started
We want you to understand the available options and choose a program that fits your goals and circumstances.
Because pricing can depend on the program and enrollment option, our team can walk you through the current tuition, any required equipment or uniform costs, and the details of your enrollment agreement. We offer beginner programs that range from being paid in full or paid in monthly installments that vary from $150 a month to $200 a month.
We want every family to understand their commitment before enrolling.
Our team will explain the available enrollment options, agreement terms, payment expectations, and any applicable policies so you can make an informed decision.
